For 100 years the Hillesland Family has farmed the land around Aneta, North Dakota. Large corporations are buying up farms all over North Dakota forcing families to increase acreage to compete or sell off the family land. Matt Hillasland along with his father and uncle farm nearly 8000 acres consisting of six crops. At 27 Hillasland is a part of a new generation of farmers who are doing what they can to hang onto their family's legacies and their farms. They understand the benefits of technology on the farm but try to balance that with the ways of the their fathers and grandfathers.
